I haven’t even photographed Nancy and Eli’s wedding yet, but I’ve already been having a blast with them. Our first meeting was over wings at a bar in our neighborhood, since it turns out we actually live pretty close to each other. Our second was for their engagement shoot in Boston’s North End this past weekend.
Call me a tourist, but the North End is one of my favorite spots in the city for aimless wandering and, of course, pastries. All the cobblestone, brick, old-timey lamp posts , and its ocean front location make it a perfect spot for photos, especially during the holidays. Once the neighborhood is decorated, the North End kind of transforms into this magical Christmas village.
All of that aside, my favorite thing about this shoot was how authentic it was. We met up in Christopher Columbus Park, near Government Center, and I essentially just photographed Nancy and Eli’s walk to one of their favorite bars. We ultimately ended up at a little speak-easy style cocktail bar called Parla, who were kind enough to let us invade their space for a bit. The result was some really fun, candid, unique photos that celebrate all the little things in a relationship.
